01 · Why I rebuilt it
Start with the decision in front of you.
The UXologist has been away while I rebuilt it around a more useful question: what decision are you trying to make? The new experience helps you describe the friction first, then compare relevant psychology, evidence, examples and limitations.
A behavioural principle cannot diagnose a problem or guarantee an outcome. Treat it as one perspective to test alongside research, accessibility, context and the welfare of the people using the product.
02 · A clearer way to work
Turn a messy question into something you can test.
Decision Lab turns an uncertain product problem into a structured brief and a practical test. The Ingredients library now brings together 105 behavioural concepts backed by 415 reviewed sources, with evidence limits and responsible-use guidance kept visible.
You can also inspect 176 reviewed UI examples and 13 complete case studies. Use them to notice and compare design choices. A screenshot alone cannot show whether an effect worked.
03 · More to use
The supporting library has grown too.
The new Guides hub starts from practical questions, including how to reduce uncertainty during onboarding and how closely behavioural evidence transfers into interface design. The evidence map, reading shelf and case studies make it easier to follow a claim back to its source or limitation.
A Workbench gives signed-in readers one place to return to saved material and decisions. Practitioner remains an optional, transparent upgrade when repeated or deeper work would benefit from more complete material and reusable tools.
04 · One useful decision each week
One useful idea, usually once a week.
One Product Decision is the new educational email: one behavioural question, the evidence and limitations that matter, and a practical next step. It will usually arrive weekly when there is something genuinely useful to send.
The first issue examines progressive disclosure: how to reduce visible complexity without hiding consequences people need before they act. Email preferences can be changed at any time in your account.
